Subscribe To Our FeedCustomized Wine as a Wedding, Anniversary, or Birthday Gift
Did you know how many people are out there searching for a good wedding gift, a good birthday or anniversary gift? There are tons of them, and many of them are looking for the same kind of thing. Something original but not too personal, something the person can keep, but something that also has a use, something that is meaningful but is not too expensive. Here’s a product that meets all those needs: customized wine.
For a wedding gift, you purchase wine made in the same year the couple are being married. Then, as their marriage matures, their wine matures. They can keep it on display and enjoy a bottle on their major anniversaries. As a birthday gift, you purchase wine made in the year of the person’s birth and for an anniversary gift, you purchase wine made in the year of the marriage.
So how do you turn this customized wine idea into a successful business? Two ways. You can either buy the wine unlabelled and then create customized labels for it. You can also buy the wine already labeled and just add customized tags. The first option is best for a wedding wine because you can create labels with the couple’s name. You can buy unlabelled wine direct from various wineries or you can purchase it online. You can easily make simple and attractive labels from your home computer. Customize the front label with the name of the couple and the date of the marriage. The back label can have a poem or a special message to the couple. You could also add a photo of the couple. Attach the labels, gift wrap the wine, and you have a perfect wedding gift. The second option of just adding labels is best for anniversaries and birthdays. Find a wine supplier either locally or on the Internet so you can purchase wine made in any year. Then add a customized birthday or anniversary tag, gift-wrap the wine and you have a perfect gift.
A simple web site is the easiest way to sell your product. There are enough people searching the Internet for unique gifts that this can work quite well. Describe your service and then provide a form for people to make their orders. The customer fills in all the details, including what they want on the front and back labels. You take the information, create the customized wine, gift-wrap it, and deliver it. It’s that simple.
One of the best things about the business is that people will always be buying. There are always weddings, anniversaries, and birthdays to be celebrated and on every occasion, there are a large group of people searching for a unique present. Provide that unique present and you’ve got yourself a simple yet successful work-from-home business.
*Editor’s Note*
A great add-on for the anniversary wine bottles would be to include a recipe so the couple can enjoy a quiet gourmet meal at home.

Wine Tasting - What is it all About?
Subscribe To Our FeedExperts believe that wine tasting is an art and not some precise science. You see, when someone taste wine, their personal choices will affect how he or she perceives the taste of the wine. According to studies, wine tasting involves the senses therefore the opinion of the person who tasted the wine is rather subjective. Since the viewpoints of the members of a wine tasting circle may differ, the ratings that a wine gets in one country may different to the ratings that it may get in another country. Does this mean that wine tasting is an unreliable form of wine rating? Well, not really, the difference in the opinion of the wine tasters do present some type of bewilderment at times but since many folks are called upon to rank the wine, the opinion of the majority wins in the end. If most of the wine tasters in a certain wine tasting circle recounted the wine is a 8 in the ten point scale, then that particular wine will be rated as a 8.
How Wine Tasting Started
Tasting the standard of the wine is a particularly old tradition. Way back in the olden times, folk who are adept at testing the quality of the wine are called on to taste the wine before it is served to the king or the emperor. The job of the wine taster is essentially very important. Some kings and rulers are known to put to put to death the wine taster if the king does not like the wine served on his table. Since wine tasting is thought of as a particularly important job in the older times, a formal system of the making a sensory analysis of the quality and flavour of the wine developed in the 14th century. In this time, a system of ascertaining the standard of the wine was first established.
Since the 14th century, the art of making sensory of analysis of the standard of the wine have developed. {However ,} the basic principles of ascertaining the quality of the wine still remain. In our modern times, wine tasters still accept the four well established points of tasting wines namely the appearance of the wine, the smell or the fragrance of the wine when put in the glass, the flavour of the wine when you drink it and the after flavor of the wine. The outcome of these stages or points of sensory analysis are combined to come up with a more complicated research into the taste of the wine.

Bring Out the Full Flavors in Wine
Subscribe To Our FeedDeciding on the best way to let your wine breathe can be a difficult one. When I open a bottle of wine, I am ready to relax with my glass of wine. I generally don’t have much patience for allowing it to breathe. Why does wine need to breathe? By letting your wine breathe or aerate it allows for the full flavors to emerge and make the wine more palatable. While there are many wines that do not need to go through this process, it is good to know the little details that can make a big difference. Here are a few tips to help you enjoy your wine to its fullest potential.
The reason why wines needs to breathe, or age, is because of tannins. Tannins can transfer into wine during the fermentation process from seeds and skins of grapes. Fuller flavors will begin to surface when the tannins, which acts like a natural presevative, begin to break down. White wines and some red wines have low levels of these and therefore do not need aging, or periods of breathing, before drinking. Generally all red wines can benefit from aeration, but those that are lighter and fruitier generally don’t require much aeration.
The term breathing refers to the mixing of oxygen with wine allowing the breakdown of tannins. When you use a decanter your are allowing the wine to mix with oxygen, allowing fuller flavors engulf your taste buds.
If you choose to allow your wine to breathe, you still have one more decision to make. Do you use a decanter or an aerator? When using a decanter, you should make sure that you have at least one hour to allow the wine to breathe. This is plenty of time for your wine to mix with oxygen and for its full flavors to emerge.Just pour the wine into the decanter and let it sit for a while.Surface area is key to the amount of oxygen that can reach the wine; the more area, the sooner you can enjoy it.
If you just opened a bottle of wine five minutes before guests arrived, or you are only wanting to drink a single glass, decantors may not be the best way to aerate your wine.An aerator achieves the same end result as a decanter but in a fraction of the time. Two types of aerators are available: one that is seperate from the bottle, and one that attches as a spout directly in the bottle of wine.
The Vinturi red wine aerator allows you to speed up the breathing process by mixing the perfect amount of air for the perfect amount of time to bring out the color, aroma, and flavor of your wines. All you do is pour your glass of wine through the aerator. A drip free stand elminates the need to clean up wine spots.
The second option, which is more user friendly especially for multi-tasking person, is the Wine Finer . This easy to use aerator allows you to pour your perfectly aerated glass of wine and enjoy in an instant. Just insert the Wine Finer in the bottle and pour the wine into a glass, the wine is aerated by the Wine Finer as it is being poured into the glass. After using the Wine Finer, just re-cork it with the top of the device. Your next glass of aerated wine will be waiting for you.
So before you decide whether to get yourself a decanter or an aerator, consider your time constraints. Before using the decanter, make sure there is sufficient time for the wine to breath. You can play it safe but allowing your wine to breathe in an instant with a Vinturi or Wine Finer.
